Mission Statement
Our mission is to foster the spirituality of
the youth of the Church of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Its is the
mission the parish shares as a whole and is coordinated by the Youth
Minister. The dates and events are all discussed as a team during
our Youth Advisory Board Meetings.
We accept youth from all faith
backgrounds to come and join our community. It is our goal to
bring youth together so they can be witness to active faith lives with
the adults of our parish. In the end, we hope they become
conscience and active citizens in the Catholic Church or where they see
fit.
The Youth Ministry activities have
multiple goals and purposes when they are designed:
- Outreach Ministry
Activities: are designed to be fun, community forming activities
that engage the interest of new youth or youth who have not been active
in the Youth Ministry program before. These activities also
provide the already active members of the community to take a leadership
position before and during the activity.
- Faith Forming Activities:
bring the opportunity for those youth ready to challenge their own faith
with new prayer experiences, service learning and/or peer ministry.
This is the framework we have setup to use
when planning our events. A balance is maintained to keep our
program alive spiritually and physically. We also do not want to
saturate our youth with too many activities in their already busy lives.ready busy lives.
“…whoever
drinks the water I give will never be thirsty. The water I give will become
a spring of water gushing up inside that person, giving eternal life.” John
4:13-14
